WITH MAGIC IN MIND

Posted by on January 23, 2023 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Colin is still performing at weddings all over the UK . During the covid outbreak I, like other entertainers, could not work due to the guidelines and rules in place. I had always been interested in the Psychic aspects allied to Magic – ESP, Cartomancy (similar to Tarot but with playing cards), Palmistry and the like. Having time on my hands I started to learn more and more and have now developed the ability to entertain using these areas. I use combinations including Neuro Linguistic Programming, personal responses and...

A WEDDING PROMISE

Posted by on November 8, 2020 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

I had some bad news a couple of days ago when a bride to be contacted me to say that she had no option but to cancel her wedding date. Several factors had conspired to bring this about. The reason I’m posting about this is because the bride was extremely upset…  about having to tell me about the cancellation. It is gratifying to think that there are people who when in moments of despair still find it within themselves to show compassion to others. I’m sure that her problems far outweighed my small inconvenience. I say small...

Weddings – News

Posted by on June 25, 2020 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

A recent announcement suggests that most restrictions will be lifted on Saturday July 24th. Hopefully that will mean weddings will be able to go ahead without all the current restrictions. It remains to be seen how many people are in a position to book and get everything ready in time for their wedding. Lets hope for a rapid return to normality.

WEDDINGS – LOCKDOWN

Posted by on April 24, 2020 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

I, like everyone else is suffering due to lockdown. Like it or lump it I think most of us agree that it’s a necessity. However for those who had weddings booked and have had to cancel or were about to book weddings it’s particularly bad. The conditions in which weddings can be go ahead are very restrictive. The lockdown has affected more than weddings of course, many other events have had to be cancelled, others could not be booked, so the lockdown tentacles are far reaching. Here’s hoping for a speedy return to normality and...

RECENT WEDDING

Posted by on September 23, 2019 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Performed at a lovely wedding recently at Weston Hall, Stafford. Good venue but most of all good people. I performed at the tables which is of course one of the options, their are others which makes weddings unique – no two weddings are the same. It is amazing the amount of preparation and planning that goes into a wedding. A Thursday wedding, this seems to have become a popular day in recent times but as stated no two are the same. Looking forward to next gig, private party for an IT company, that’s progress:).

Criticism

Posted by on September 10, 2018 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Criticism, like rain, should be gentle enough to nourish a man’s growth without destroying his roots. A quote from Frank A. Clarke. It’s a thing that none of us particularly like, although, it is often necessary. Without it we would no doubt soldier on doing what we do -oblivious to any flaws that we all undoubtedly have. But where does criticism come from and where should it come from? As a magician performing for lots of people I am open to criticism if I’m not at my best, that means, dress, attitude and performance. If any...

West Midlands Wedding Magician-Busy.

Posted by on August 27, 2018 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Well I was busy last week being the West Midlands Wedding Magician at two weddings, one on the Thursday and one on Saturday. Both really lovely events. One had more guests than the other although that made no difference to the atmosphere or enjoyment. Each wedding is unique, carrying its own stamp and leaving its own memories. With other gigs that week I was busy but having time to reflect over the Bank Holiday I’ve noticed that recently I’ve done more and more weddings on days other than Saturdays. My next two are a Sunday and a...

PRAISE

Posted by on July 8, 2018 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

“Unless a reviewer has the courage to give you unqualified praise, I say ignore the b*****d!” – So wrote John Steinbeck, author of The Grapes of Wrath and other great books. A wonderful witty comment but how do we view praise? There is no doubt that for humans praise is important, we thrive on praise, somebody giving us a pat on the back, a simple well done is a boost to our ego. Most of my work involves close-up magic to small groups of people, most often seated at a table. To hear that group clapping and applauding you as...

West Midlands Wedding Magician

Posted by on June 2, 2018 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Performed at a lovely wedding a few weeks ago, massive marquee in the garden – yes it was a massive garden with stables and its own car park. Weddings have to be my favourite times for performing close up magic, everyone is in such a good mood. The weather was spot on, warm sunshine, inside the marquee got quite hot when the meal was served so I took my jacket off while the main course was being taken. Returning to the spot where I’d left my jacket I found it had gone, or rather didn’t find it, it had gone (I think you know...
